Same Stuff, Different Day.

But, none the less, some of you come here looking for action and excitement throughout the day, so I'll humor you.

Hank's ... gone. While he's out, I'm busy working on video editing for a client, and it's fun and challenging. The video will complete reshoots on Wednesday, hopefully also complete the rough cut on Wednesday, be reviewed by the client for the final cut on Thursday, and be distributed on Friday. Distribution will be on both Youtube and Small Cap Engine, and I'll post a link here.

The weekend was fun. Spent a lot of time at Ed and Amber's. Amber is having some stress about the whole "step mom" thing that she's really not used to, and quite understandably so. So, I offered some suggestions from an objective outsider perspective on how to better bond with her step daughter, Nan. We spent time teaching her how to cook fun and easy things in the kitchen - Eggs in a Frame for breakfast, and Beef Quesadillas for lunch. Sushi was dinner, but that's not so much a 'cooking recipe' as it is cutting up a bunch of raw stuff and letting people make their own. Nan had a lot of fun, we all spent time together, and everyone was happy... and we ate well! So, all around, mission accomplished.

Aberrant is on hold until the weekend of the 15th, which has all of us - including Jason, our Storyteller - twitching. Scheduling isn't working out before then, so it's really nobody's fault. The end of Chapter 1, which Amber and I are affectionately titling, "A Farewell to Dons," left us kinda hanging, but on a good note. It felt a bit like the ending of the first Lord of the Rings movie - triumphant, but the journey has only begun.

We had our second band... jam group... fools with musical instruments.... practice thing.. on Wednesday of this week. We rehashed the old songs well enough, and we started playing around with My Favorite Mistake by Sheryl Crow, and Californication by Red Hot Chili Peppers. Both of them are VERY fun songs to play, especially My Favorite Mistake. Californication is a lot of fun too, but a lot of the cool is in the bass line, and that's Josh's purview.

wtf_bloodelf.jpgOn the WoW front, we did our first guild Heroic! The Underbog was no match for us, and we slew the Black Stalker on our first try, even with his THOUSANDS of damage and new tricks in heroic mode. I was able to tank it with little problem, and Carl, luckily, was easily able to heal it. Our only pug member, a shadow priest, was a reasonable fellow with a good head on his shoulders. Luckily, he was the exception to the pug rule. I have also been playing my alts a bit more. Meg and I made a little progress with our exquisite pair of huntards, and I spent all last night attempting to cajole the Element of Water into giving Amber's and my shamans the time of day. By midnight, we were successful, and now have our Healing Stream totems. Lastly, I decided to make a Blood Elf mage... by which I'm slightly confused. I think, mechanically, I'll be able to tear it up, now that I'm far more comfortable with making macros to ease my gameplay. However, aesthetically, the ambiguity of the blood elf male model is... odd. I honestly wonder if they use all the female texture-mapping on him.

Srsly, tell me I'm wrong. YES, he's wearing pants. Those are [Ancestral Woollies] he's wearing.

Lastly, the Games Workshop store in Novi, under Arica's management, is talking about having a sort of "Adult's Only" league going on, and I've been invited to be the Necron player for it. I'll drop more details up here when I get the chance. I need to get back to painting anyway.

Anyway, that's about all I have for now.
