I am a perforated-American
Nothing quite like waiting until you're 28 to have your rebellious streak, eh?
So this afternoon, Megan is going to get her tattoo - it's something she's been wanting for quite a while now, and she requested I draw it for her. The drawing is about the size of an average playing card, and features a rose with a scroll draped around it, with "6 • 19 • 04" written on it to commemorate our wedding day. I think it will look nice, but we'll see when it happens if it's as good in practice as it is on paper.
I'll snap picks as much as I can, but I think our camera is broken... I'll have to see if it still snaps pictures, or if the screen is just dead on it.
Anyhow, I decided that if she's going to do something crazy, I'm going to also. So I got my ears pierced! Right now I'm featuring two 4mm gold ball studs. I personally think they look pretty cool. I figure, I'll give'm a chance, and it if turns out I really don't like them, I take them out and they heal up. No harm, no foul, nothing's permanent.
We stopped at my parents' place first, to warn them, and to pick up some stuff, but nobody was home. I was left with no choice but to go ahead with it. (I say that like I wasn't going to anyway... heh.) But we did stop over at Linens n' Things on our way out of the mall and show my mom. She scowled. I don't know how truly upset she is... but I guess it doesn't really matter too much either. It's my ears that are pierced, and the only other two people in my life who can have a legitimate beef with it are Meg (my wife) and Hank (my employer).
I didn't walk to work today. After 8 miles in 2 days, my legs sat me down to have a little talk with me. I'm allowing them a day to heal, and will try for walking again tomorrow.
I'll post pics of my wife's and my self-mutilation / beautification later... and if they'll let me, snap pics of Meg actually GETTING her tattoo.
